Get Help

If you have seriously harmed yourself or are at risk of attempting suicide, please call 999 immediately for an ambulance or go directly to your nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.


If you are not in immediate danger but need support, please refer to the helpful resources listed below.

Samaritans

If something is upsetting you, you can reach out to Samaritans anytime. They are available 24/7, 365 days a year:

For support in Welsh, you can call the Samaritans Welsh Language Line at 0808 164 0123 (available every day from 7pm–11pm).branches in person. You can also call the Samaritans Welsh Language Line on  0808 164 0123  (7pm–11pm every day) 

SANEline

If you're experiencing a mental health problem or supporting someone else, you can call  SANEline  on 0300 304 7000  (4.30pm–10.30pm every day) 

CALM

If you're struggling and need to talk, you can contact CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably):


Call: 0800 58 58 58 (available every day, 5pm–midnight)

Webchat: Access their online service if you prefer not to speak on the phone.

National Suicide Prevention Helpline

 

The National Suicide Prevention Helpline UK offers a supportive listening service to anyone experiencing suicidal thoughts. You can call them at 0800 689 5652, available every day from 6pm to 3:30am.

SHOUT

  If you would  prefer not to talk  but want some mental health support, you could text SHOUT to 85258.  Shout  offers a confidential 24/7 text service providing support if you are in crisis and need immediate help. 

The Mix

If you're under 25, you can contact The Mix for support:

Use their crisis text messenger service.

Switchboard

 If you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, you can reach out to Switchboard for support. They are available every day from 10am to 10pm:

Papyrus

 If you're under 35 and struggling with suicidal feelings, or concerned about a young person who might be, you can contact Papyrus HOPELINEUK:

Nightline

 If you're a student, check the Nightline website to see if your university or college offers a night-time listening service. All Nightline phone operators are students as well. 

C.A.L.L. Helpline

If you live in Wales, you can contact the Community Advice and Listening Line (C.A.L.L.) for support. They are available 24/7 at 0800 132 737. Alternatively, you can text ‘HELP’ followed by your question to 81066
